Dragons by the YardIssue #6

Anna and her makeshift family—best friends Mae and Robert, along with young dragons Albert and Penny—arrive at her late grandmother’s land, a vast expanse of desert giving way to forested mountains. They’re searching for safety and a fresh start. But what they discover is far beyond anything they could have imagined: Anna’s grandmother didn’t live in a simple cabin—she lived in an intricate system of caves, hidden beneath the mountain and teeming with secrets.

As the group settles into their newfound sanctuary, Anna and Mae take it upon themselves to teach Albert and Penny about the strange and wondrous world they’ve been born into. Meanwhile, Robert’s adventurous spirit leads to astonishing discoveries within the caves. These subterranean chambers hold more than just the legacy of Anna’s grandmother—they reveal the history of dragons, the servants who protect them, and the hunters who seek to destroy them.

But knowledge can be a double-edged sword, and as the group dives deeper into the mysteries of their new home, they uncover secrets that could either ensure their survival—or draw more danger than they ever anticipated.
